Startup Activation Berlin 2013: appel à bonnes idées

Startup Activation Berlin 2013, an idea contest to support entrepreneurs and early-stage startups in the EU countries, launches the first of a series of events Outreach events in order to support entrepreneurs and early-stage startups in the EU countries – Belgium included.

A final event will take place in Berlin on November 25, where two winners will go home with 30,000 euros each. In addition, all attending finalists will receive a small prize.

Entrants- individuals or early stage startups- are invited to submit a short outline of their idea to be evaluated by a panel of experts. Based on the evaluation up to ten participants shall be invited to pitch their idea in Berlin in November 2013. Two winning teams shall then be selected by a jury comprised of the expert evaluators and representatives of the contest partners.

Thematic fields

The contest welcomes ideas in IT – in particular ideas focusing on Cyber-Physical Systems (Internet of Things, embedded systems…) and Future Cloud.

  • Future Cloud (FC) based business will become the backbone of the European economy and society. Many services will be based in the Cloud and several businesses and critical infrastructures are critical infrastructures are becoming increasingly dependent on it. We are looking for different types of solutions, sercvices and applications, which support the development of new digital service ecosystems and applications, which support the development of a new digital service ecosystem in the Cloud.
  • Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) integrate software-intensive embedded systems with global communication networks. By linking the world of the Internet with physical entities, CPS open up completely new areas of innovation and new business models. We are looking for innovative CPS applications and services, particularly in the areas of production systems and the monitoring and control of critical infrastructures.
